Prevent Child Abuse Georgia team members traveled to Athens on Aug. 7 to attend the annual Georgia Chamber of Commerce Congressional Luncheon.
PCA Georgia joined the chamber in 2023 to increase business networking. Gov. Brian Kemp and other elected officials spoke to the 1,500+ attendees, emphasizing Georgia’s economic growth.
“Cultivating connections with elected officials, business leaders, and others increases the knowledge of how PCA Georgia is working to strengthen families across the state,” said Director of Communications and Media E. Lane Gresham. “Many speakers emphasized the role of economic development in our state; growing jobs and the economy are also vital elements for families to thrive.”
Georgia Essentials for Childhood project lead Beth Florence also attended the event.
“From the perspective of Georgia Essentials, the entire event was exciting!” Florence said. “Gov. Kemp noted Georgia is a great place to live and raise a family, aligning with the vision of Georgia Essentials for strong, connected communities. “This alignment between business and child welfare goals underscores the similarities in their aspirations because, as Gov. Kemp put it, ‘All Georgians deserve opportunities regardless of their zip code.’”
